Reading Wrap up September

So again I do not follow through and blog at all for most of the month. It has been a bit on the slower side reading-wise. The last couple of months the number of books might have gone down or maybe it's just my imagination, too lazy to actually take a look in the posts/trackers of the last few months. This month I only participated in a single readathon. #AYearAThon I did manage to complete 2 books that fit the prompt Read the first book in a series. Oh well, lets move on. Summary of Reading Challenge 2019 This month I read 11 books. Making a grand total of 159 for the yearly challenge. DNFd 1 book: Her body and other parties a collection of short stories. I might get back to it a bit later. 1 book will be carried on for next month will be Games of Thrones, I am liking it but due to the intimidating size, I have not picked it up. I will have to get over that. In total, read 3,174 pages. DAily page read in average was 102.28 instead of the 200  I had intended on s

Red Dragon

Author: Thomas Harris Series: Hannibal Lecter #1 Original publication: November 1981 Book description: A second family has been massacred by the terrifying serial killer the press has christened "The Tooth Fairy." Special Agent Jack Crawford turns to the one man who can help restart a failed investigation: Will Graham. Graham is the greatest profiler the FBI ever had, but the physical and mental scars of capturing Hannibal Lecter have caused Graham to go into early retirement. Now, Graham must turn to Lecter for help. Thoughts: This is a very interesting story. Will is very realistic and intuitive. He still has issues to accept the actions he had to do in the past, fear his own mind and others.   We get very little from Lecter, he was just an afterthought and mentioned like a big presence yet never allowed enough room to develop.  The relationship between Will and Molly is not my favorite, I understand where it comes from, her attitude and his but not my favorite.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What ha

Author:  Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, Tony Moore, Cliff Rathburn Genre: Comic Original publication date: May 2004 Book description: How many hours are in a day when you don't spend half of them watching television? When is the last time any of us REALLY worked to get something we wanted? How long has it been since any of us really NEEDED something that we WANTED? The world we knew is gone. The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled. no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally start living. Thoughts Bad thing about this? Watching the TV show first and then trying to read the original comic.  I can't stop seeing the first chapter behind the scenes as you read alo

Readathons I had intended to participate, well I tried in most. #AYearAThon, that was a big failure. That book did not even get started, and it was only one. Though luck. I will leave Emma for another occasion. Used-book-a-thon. I did try though did not complete all the challenges not even a bingo line! I managed to complete 8 challenges by reading 3 book so it was an ok week. MY biggest success was the Magical Readathon I did complete it all, I had planned on reading a few extra books and that was not accomplished but regardless I di manage to score: N.E.W.T.s grades: O Arithmancy O Charms O Transfiguration E Ancient Runes A D.A.D.A I managed to complete 12 books I did end up changing some of the ebooks I had established as my TBR. I changed A swiftly tilting planet for Wild Blue Wonder by Carlie Sorosiak and Ranma 1/2 for Blue Exorcist by Kazue Kato but I did end up completing all the intended challenges.  In total, I read 18 books that count for my yearly challenge a
