First Haul 2021- Balance #1

Image
This year started off beautifully. And we are going to do the first actual Balance of our books and TBR books. What did I buy this month? The first purchase was the start of the epic fantasy story Malazan book of the fallen. and also the nonfiction book about stereotypes  So, in this case, are 4 books that I bought. But then I am already cheating, as I found a few books in Kindle (Amazon) that were marked as free and so I couldn't stop myself so I grabbed them. I do not really know what they are about but I added them to my Kindle library as I am planning on reading them at some point or other. I mean they were free, you just can't ignore that. In total I acquired 144 books, I might have been able to get a few more if I continue to search every day. I totally recommend if you have time browse and search for free books. The first issue arose, so the 144 books are new to my TBR but they were not bought so how should I place that in my Balance book scale? -Should I do the 5 I b...

Last book Haul 2020

Again I am very surprised and yet not on how many books I have read but mostly how much I have spent on books this year alone. I have always tried to ignore my expenses in topics related to books. -I have tried to tell myself to stop buying so many books. -I have banned myself from buying physical books. - Set the rule only ebooks or audiobooks allowed. -Planned to only look for bargains online and get the 1 cent books in Kindle (Amazon) daily deals. -I have forbidden myself from buying online books (ebooks, audiobooks or physical books). -I have made it my monthly goal to only buy a certain amount of books (1 or 2) per month. Did I accomplish that? Not really.  I even went overboard this month. I bought a new bookshelf. Actually, I bought two. One was delivered and I just set it up (December 26) so it was my Christmas gift for myself in a way. The other one was because I had never come up with that before, I ordered a metallic shelf. You know the type of shelves used in sma...

November 2020 Book Haul

Image
I wanted to be strong again and not buy too many physical books as my stack of unread books is already enormous. But then things like Black Friday come in and I just couldn't stop myself.  There were some books I really was planning on reading in November so I was going to buy a few in digital format, but still, I went ahead and bought some physical ones as well.  So beginning with Kindle: Saint's Blood by Sebastien de Castell the third book in the Greatcoats series. At least I did read this one. We continue with Falcio and the remaining Greatcoats. They have been betrayed, hunted, and almost killed but they have to keep going. They're very unlucky indeed. You can find a few more of my thoughts in the book review right here . Next, I bought a few more children books I plan on reading to my niece. As she is not even close to understanding English I have picked Alina the monster hunter  (Alina cazadora de monstruos) by Anne Aband. I have no idea what this is about b...
