We are going strong. The book for prompt 4 is complete. So we go back to the video and see what the question is. Did you enjoy the setting? Yes - https://youtu.be/LNzjst0k66I   Kinda - https://youtu.be/ydbTvncdX9g   No - https://youtu.be/6x6uIoCfJD0   DNF - https://youtu.be/xK1o3TYwwH4 For me of course, I love it! So we go to the video for the next prompt. I am very excited about this. It is still very early in the month but I feel I can read at a faster pace if I try to get a prompt a day. I did slow down for a bit but let's pick up the pace. Prompt 5: Language. There are a few interpretations here: -A book/series that has its own alphabet or language.  -Book featuring new vocabulary or made-up words for the story. -Translated works - In my case, I might pick to read a book in Spanish as I have been trying to read more of them.  Again little break so I can walk around my room trying to figure out what to read. I have finally made my pick. I went around a...

1000 door readathon prompt 4

We are moving forward, this is going great. So the criteria to select our door this time was. Did you like the main character : Yes  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22MLBmm-5vg Kinda No DNF I of course liked the main character so that's the door for me.  This time we found Megan and as it seems to be her theme this readathon the way to select the book is, she will provide a Meme. Relate that feeling, vibe to a book and that's how we're going to pick our next read. A few ways to interpret this is: A book with mixed reviews. A very hyped book. Something you are 100% sure it's your thing but hope it is. Anything that you have heard a slightly negative thing about would work. So my pick for this door is: Sebastien de Castell's Saint's blood. I have heard several people who have been reading the series a bit ahead of me that completely praise the first in the series and the second they found very enjoyable. This third one is getting a lot of mixed reviews. For many...

1000 door readathon prompt 3

We have finished reading the book for the second prompt. The book ended up being 3 stars. Not sure if that is going to be the deciding criteria for the next prompt. Let's find out.  The prompt I used for the #2 door can be found here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAgHF3-OI20 The criteria is based on the following question:  (-: Did you guess where the book was going? Possible answers: No Yes but I didn't mind  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQjxExfgVj4 Yes complete predictable in a not so great way DNF This is a series of unfortunate event of course I knew where it was going but I still enjoyed the ride. So my next prompt is dictated by the 3rd option. Let's see what we find. (Note: I am only including the links for the prompts I am using but this game can be played any time, feel free to start in the announcement and select your prompt one and go from there. Believe me, it is pretty fun.) Prompt: *A book that feels like Marvel. Once more a huge range of ...

1000 door challenge prompt 2

So after reading the book, I have to select my next prompt based on the rating I gave my book for prompt 1. The 5th wave received a 3-star rating. This means I get the next door  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAgHF3-OI20 The prompt is Old and New. This could mean a book that you had in your TBR for a long time (old book) being read for the first time. A classic you just bought or you will read for the first time. A story is written in the past but new to you. A story featuring an old main character. A new to you author. A fantasy story with an old setting. Most fantasy stories take place in medieval or old times.  Featuring moving to a new place. Too many things to chose from. At the same time, I do not want to add any more books to my existing TBR so I'll have to try to make one of them fit the criteria.  The book I am going to use for this one is: This tells us the story of 3 siblings who move to a new residence. They are trying to escape from the clutches of a...

You can find one of the announcement videos here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUdbHSGLjnY How it works? It is a month-long readathon, with the opportunity to win prizes. The prizes can be candles from the online shop Grace and Honey ran by Becca from Beccaandthebooks. I am sincerely not going to race to complete this and win the prices but I want to play. This is the formula for the perfect Readathon! There are 3 possible starts. We are encouraged to watch each one and select our start point. In the video, we have two main parts.  1. The first provides you the prompt. ...
