A Book a Week With the Pingel Sisters

Image
So this month I had picked several prompts according to the # weeks that we are going on. I total we read only 4 out of the five books we intended but that's ok. I was not able to get through the #13 ... Just as I was checking the number of weeks and I noticed that I had a small miscalculation.  Week 13 is from March 25- to 31 And I assumed this was week 15 and yet I am ahead so I am not really bad. I will change the 13 and read it next month and still, I won't be behind.  For week 11 I picked: Pinocchio by Calo Collodi for the Children's classic. This story I had not even looked up the original I barely knew of the Disney version.  It is as most classics full of unpleasantries. I had a strong dislike for the puppet, he was an awful individual and always made very poor decisions. I do not know why the fairy would continue to want to help him not even after everything he did was be an awful person to his father.  The way he treated the cricket, well what can we say

Reading Slump

Image
The me right now doesn't even know where to look or what to do: So this is the middle of the month and I am still feeling the slump. Since mid-February I noticed my will to read diminishing.  I tried to set a schedule to read, and that seemed to help me get through the first two readathons of the month but I read only 3 books in that time, and reading 3 books in 7 days that's not exactly a good pace for the norm of my reading....  It is already the 13th and I am still reading the three books I picked up right after finishing the Wyrdathon and #YearAThon. I have been so demotivated that I haven't even made myself review any of the few books I finished. Heck, I did not even review all of the ones I read in February!

WyrdAthon Wrap up

For this readathon, I planned on reading 3 books. I managed to get through: Inuyasha by RumikoTakashi This is a Manga originally published in Japan in 1997. It follows a girl named Kagome as she's accidentally transported to Japan's Feudal era where there are demons and spirits still rampant around terrorizing humans.   The art on it is amazing, I used to love this anime when I saw it, a few years back (more than 10 actually). This is the first time I am reading the manga. It begins a bit slow, we are still seeing the two main characters try to come to terms with each other's existence. Inuyasha a proud man who says he wants to become a  full fleshed demon and dismisses Kagome for being a weak human who can't even fight. But he still tries to protect her in his own way. It is only the beginning but I am already liking it. Also, the art style is something I come to enjoy a lot. I gave this a 5/5 stars.  This book was used for the prompts: Adventure and Loyalty
