WyrdAthon Wrap up

For this readathon, I planned on reading 3 books. I managed to get through:

Inuyasha by RumikoTakashi
This is a Manga originally published in Japan in 1997. It follows a girl named Kagome as she's accidentally transported to Japan's Feudal era where there are demons and spirits still rampant around terrorizing humans.
The art on it is amazing, I used to love this anime when I saw it, a few years back (more than 10 actually). This is the first time I am reading the manga. It begins a bit slow, we are still seeing the two main characters try to come to terms with each other's existence. Inuyasha a proud man who says he wants to become a  full fleshed demon and dismisses Kagome for being a weak human who can't even fight. But he still tries to protect her in his own way. It is only the beginning but I am already liking it.
Also, the art style is something I come to enjoy a lot.
I gave this a 5/5 stars.

This book was used for the prompts: Adventure and Loyalty

The Second book we picked was for the prompt: Lies
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
This is a fantasy book it was originally published in June 2006.
It is an amazing book. Initially, it was hard to get into because of the two time lines the story is being told in. One follows Locke in his childhood how he became to the Gentlemen Bastards and the other follows him in his adulthood (the present). After you become used to that you enjoy the book so much more.
The friendship, adventure, the planning, and the whole thing, it has drama, fights, high stakes planning; It is simply amazing, I ended u loving it. I am unsure if I should give it a 4.5 or round it up to 5 stars.

The last prompts that were picked were: Love, Passion
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.
This is a YA contemporary novel, it follows Ronnie a typical teenager who is in the stages of reveling against her mother and hating her father for the divorce and leaving the family.
This is a very realistic portrayal, the teenager does feel like she knows better than all and thinks her life is the worst possible, yet as she is forced to spend the whole summer with her father in a place she strongly dislikes she realizes what she thought to could be not so true after all.
I love the character development, Ronnie does a lot of growing up and so do some of the other characters, it is not only her that starts to change. The love story is developed a bit fast but it is still enjoyable to read.
I gave this 4 stars.
This last book was also used to cover the:
* Readathon #AYearaThon. This month was to read standalone.
*A book a week with the Pingel Sisters reading challenge 2019. Cover with your favorite color.

I only read 3 book for the challenge.
