Mistborn
Author: Brandon Sanderson
Series: The Mistborn series
Genre: Fantasy
Original Publication date: July 2006
Book description: Once, a hero arose to save the world. A young man with a mysterious heritage courageously challenged the darkness that strangled the land.
He failed.
For a thousand years since, the world has been a wasteland of ash and mist ruled by the immortal emperor known as the Lord Ruler. Every revolt has failed miserably.
Yet somehow, hope survives. Hope that dares to dream of ending the empire and even the Lord Ruler himself. A new kind of uprising is being planned, one built around the ultimate caper, one that depends on the cunning of a brilliant criminal mastermind and the determination of an unlikely heroine, a street urchin who must learn to master Allomancy, the power of a Mistborn
Too many things.
Characters: 10. I really connected with most of the people, their fears, flaws friendships. It feels so realistic and relatable, their struggles their hopes and dreams looking so unreachable but inspiring at the same time.
Plot: 9.0 This is a first book so things were slowly built up. The story was not necessarily slow paced, there were a lot of segments that were pretty fast.
The first fourth of the book felt a bit slow for me, but soon the things start to happen, plans fall apart new ones get formed and things just keep you in the edge of the seat trying to get to the ending.
Logic: 10. This was very realistic. The people so subdued, the rebellion having difficulty getting support, it was pretty well done.
Writing Style: 10 Simply loved it! I now understand why so many people like Brandon Sanderson. This being the first book read by him, an excellent pick I am assuming :)
Intrigue: 10 Definitely the type of book that annoys me because I o not move fast enough to get to the end!!
Enjoyment 8.5 I had a lot of issues getting into the story maybe not because of the story but because I was slowly getting through it that made my enjoyment go a few points down. This is the type of book that I need to reread in order to get through the story without so much stress.
Intention: 10
So yes I gave this obviously 5-star rating!!
This is the first book I finish this month and hopefully, I will manage to read a bit more than last month. I need to pick up my pace and stop procrastinating so much when trying to read XD
It took me too long to read this book but that was surprising I did enjoy this too much!! Big mystery.
