Series: The Murderbot Diaries #3

Published date: August 7, 2018

Genre: Sci-Fi

Book description (GoodReads):

SciFi’s favorite antisocial A.I. is again on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah’s SecUnit is.
And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good

Thoughts:

Murderbot is still on the move. After their last mission and with money and a bit of practice the next mission begins. The course is set, and pretending to be human without the help of ART might prove to be more difficult than Murderbot wanted.

Murderbot heads off to Milu, a deserted terraforming facility in space, to investigate the past of a murky group called GrayCris, yes the same group we saw in the first book. It is probably because Murderbot still feels guilty about Dr. Mensah and the other humans that they abandoned. The new crew of humans also has their own bot. They are very different in every possible way, like fire and ice (Murderbot and Miki). The Bot is intelligent but very naive.
The plot seems like it's going somewhere, the big corporation hiding secrets and using Milu as cover, Murderbot in the middle of everything. The main purpose is to get proof so their human friends have an advantage in their case against GrayCris.
Once in Milu, another surprise, other people are also investigating the same location. The group of humans plus Miki.
The bot allows Murderbot to face a different lifestyle. The alliance and friendship, between human and bot.
The plot is moving very slow. The story is very similar, the bot encounters humans, looks down at them, and still is very stubborn about no I don't have feelings and humans can't really care about an AI.
Still is a very quick read and it was enjoyable. You can easily read it in a single day. It is short and the writing style is simply enchanting, it made me change my plans and could not move away from the book until I was done with it.

Note: These books were read in December, but I am unable to convince myself to review the last book when I am missing the previous installments in the series.
I at least will catch up to the latest published work.
