Evangeline, Eve to her friends has a especial talent. She can get certain information from people by holding their objects. This lands the poor girl, with grandure delusions on trouble and her parents send her off to an Uncle who lives in New York. Eve wishing to be some grand famous woman and nothing else is thrilled with the idea of living in the big city and leaving Ohio behind.
Sam is a white lad, living on the go. He also has a abiliy, though he uses his to help himself get by. On the train station he encounters Eve and manages to help himself to some of her money $20, not exactly too little and Eve keeps reminding him of that fact. He is a thief; a thief with a very especific and convinient ability: He can become invisible. He only needs to wish to be ignored or unseen and people around cannot see him.
Jericho is Will's ward. He works in the musseum of the occult with Eve's uncle. She thinks the place is just for show and that her Uncle doesn't actually believe anything. Oh how wrong can she be. Anyhow this story has it all, the suspense, the fear of the supernatural and overall it is very well written and it has you on the edge wanting to know what happens next. I enjoyed the ending, it does give you a somewhat closure of the immediate threat but it leaves you with a new uncertain fear.... Who's coming next?
I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars, I also need to buy the sequel. I must know what happens.
