Book description:

There is nothing to be found in the pages of these books but misery and despair. You still have time to choose something else to read. But if you must know what unpleasantries befall the charming and clever Baudelaire children read on...The Hostile Hospital - There are many pleasant things to read about, but this book contains none of them. Within its pages are such burdensome details as a suspicious shopkeeper, unnecessary surgery, heart-shaped balloons, and some very startling news about a fire. Clearly, you do not want to read about such things.

Thoughts:

This is the first book where the Baudelaire children take the reign of where they go. After escaping from the horrible prison and becoming wanted criminals they find a new clue about the secret their friends discovered. VFD- the group of very cheery volunteers who work in this hospital. They are trying to find out if the volunteer group and the Library of records will shed light on their tragedies.
Olaf is as usual not far and manages to get to the hospital very soon after them.
I do not want to spoil it, but the situation is dire, they do not catch a break. Sunny, by the way, is starting to say a few words that are understandable. Time is passing by them so quickly, and yet they can't catch a break.

The formula is the same I will not go into many details.

*Skip if you do not want to see my formula:
They escaped barely from the previous peril and days later they're in another worse situation. Arrive at another destination full of irrational and illogical people. They may or maybe not find an adult figure who is not as much of an ass as the rest of them. But in the end, they are betrayed. Adult around them are unable to think and do not see the clear lies in fornt of them and yet fall for the lies of Olaf and his crew so they behave awfully to the children.

*You can come back now.

What do I feel?
This is my least or one of the volumes I like the least really. The attitude of the adults here is still the same. Nonsense and stupidity are reaching unbelievable heights. We do not get any information, each time we only get more and more questions and hints that we can't connect.
And again the fact that I am so frustrated means that I care about the characters and so I conclude it a good story.

Star rating:

What other children's stories do you guys recommend? I am looking for others, maybe I should wait fora few months before I start a new series.
Oh well, if anyone has read this boo I would love to hear your thoughts.

That is all for me. Stay safe, stay healthy.
