2020 Reading statistics
The end of the year is my favorite time for several reasons: I overview and check the goals and set new ones.
I surpassed my reading challenge for 2020 (Goal 225). Out of the total books read, 25 were reread that makes it 9%. My goal was 10% in the year so I'm going to round up and give that goal also a check of completed.
My favorite graph to see is the one describing the number of books read per month.
The month I read the least was December as I had predicted. This was mostly because I am usually busy with other plans and because by the time December rolled around I was a bit burned out. The last few weeks I had a bit of a struggle to get into a series and instead of DNFing it and picking something up I tried to push through. This was a mistake. In the end, the only thing I accomplished was to get into a reading slump and I read almost nothing afterward.
The month I read the most was August, I am not even sure why. I have almost no record of those books as I completely skipped blogging that month.
Moving on to other fun stats I like to keep track of.
It's clear I enjoyed most of my picks. It's always such a relief to see that the amount of 1 star is such a small number. I had also a lot of 4 and 5 stars, can't complain about it.
As you can see I did accidentally read more 2020 releases than I thought. My goal was to read one 2020 release per month, I read more so we can check that as completed. It's interesting to see if I read more new releases or older titles. In my case, I read mostly older titles.
Mostly I have been reading Adult, this was not exactly a choice. I've been more interested in books of that age range lately. I am not trying to get to a determined percentage in this category. I just like to see how my reading mood was in this aspect.
I did read a lot more short books. Not bad, again I do not have a goal for this. I simply like to be able to see a visual representation of this. I wanted to read one book over 600 pages per month and I surpassed that. Adding up the books that have over 500 pages represents 14% of the total number of books read. We will mark it as goa completed.
Now moving on to a few aspects I wanted to track about the authors
I will try to broaden my horizons a bit more this upcoming year.
Next comes the stats I am more afraid of. Book buying:
I am not going to display the amount of money I spent on books this year. Let's just say I am not aiming to repeat that this year. I will try to do better. I need to slow down my spending habits.
Well, once more it was a fun ride. I love seeing it all put together like this.
Do let me know how your goals for 2020 went and if you plan on keeping any of them for this year.
Stay safe, Stay healthy!
