Thoughts:

I am getting very close to the ending now. With these two I finally start the fourth compendium. This is finally the time when I finish the series. Maybe after I get to the ending I'll manage to convince myself to get back and start the tv series once more and consume the story that way as well. I am not sure how many seasons there are.

I am going to go through the volumes and mention small bits of what is going on, it is a reminder if you have read them a while back or mild spoilers if you have not reached these specific volumes. Let's get to it.

Volume 25 No turning back

The end of the previous volume left us hanging in a very dramatic way. The whisperers left their border marked by the heads of the people from Hilltop, Alexandra, The Saviors, and Ezequiel's people.
What will the response be?
Rick doubts what to do next. The people are turning against him due to his lack of action.
There are a few people calling for violence right away. The only answer people will accept is to pick up arms and fight back. Carl is advised to leave Alexandria as he is still with Lydia and after what her mother did it would be too much for the community. The dark nature of people comes to the surface. The people want to go back to the Whisperers and use her as a bargaining chip. And if that were not to work they wish to hurt Alpha by hurting or maybe killing her daughter.
There is a lot of issues in Alexandria, people fighting among each other some backup Rick as he is saying they should wait and plan what action to take next. Others keep raising against him at every turn.
We see a few more kindling between Rick and Michonne, a few personal struggles overcome.
At the climax of the struggles, when Rick sees himself against a wall. He is losing the control and trust of the people. He takes the advice from Negan. They seem to not hate each other anymore.
The next action is decided by Rick but people think he takes too long. One night Rick is assaulted by a few men. In the struggle, they hurt him but he manages to defend himself, but he is very hurt. This does not change his mind, his decision is cemented. He manages to present the decision to the community and it manages to raise him to their approval once more.

Volume 26 Call to arms

The people take the call to action very well. People start joining in Alexandria and start to train. They do have a bullet factory after all they just have to use it. Negan does not get any gift for his very well placed advice.

On another hand, Eugene makes an amazing discovery but he does not share this discovery.

Things start to be more stable, Rick thinks the training is going very well. Carl, Lydia, and Andrea can return to Alexandria now. And the people who were staying in Alexandria, those who weren't going to stay as fighters finally leave as they are pleased with the next step to take.

Human nature and stupidity show up again. A young man who is grieving and harbors vengeance against Rick and the whole community. He decides to betray them and in his plans, Negan features a very significant part. The young man managed to sneak Negan out and they go towards the whisperers. Negan is the only one who reaches them.

Rick sends people after him but they do not catch up in time. Negan is a very enchanting man and he manages to capture the Alpha's interest. That proves to be a bad idea.

I gave both of them:

This is getting very good indeed. I am getting interested even more as it just keeps changing. I am more intrigued to get to the ending of the series. I will try to complete the compendium either this month or the next.

Has anyone completed the series? Share your opinions with me. Thank you for keeping up with me. See you later. Stay safe, stay healthy!
