The Questions:
1. Do you have a book with a fox on the cover or part of the plot?
I am not sure if it participates in the story but I did find a book that has a fox on the cover. I have not read it as it is the 5th book in a series really.
This features accidental time travel or portal magic something like that. Polly transported to a past where the fights and is trapped in a situation where human sacrifice is a real threat to her existence.
2. Do you have a book that was published the year you were born, or within a 3-year radius?
I have a book published the same year I was born. The Firm by John Grisham.
Mitch McDeere is young, intelligent and ambitious. When he gets a job with the law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke it seems to be the path to money and power. But soon Mitch finds that the firm is listening to all his phone calls, and the FBI want to speak to him. Money and power has a price - and it could be Mitch's life. When something sounds too good to be true most cases is because it is.
3. Do you have a book with music as a weapon or magic?
I don't really. That is an interesting concept. Now I am intrigued I should go to see what other people say about this so I can get a few recommendations. Any suggestions? If you do have any books where this is featured please let me know.
4. Do you have a series with mismatched covers?
I have quite a few really. If I buy a series I try to buy them together if possible. But if get different editions I don't really care all that much so that's why I do have some of them. Some of the ones I have not read are Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series by Rick Riordan. This tells us the story of Magnus Chase after he dies in an act of bravery and is sent to the Vallaha the heaven of warriors to await the end of the world. I really enjoyed that series.
Another one is and the most noticeable are the books for the Harry Potter series. I still have the editions of different publishing houses some in paperback and others in Hardback.
5. Do you have a book with a shapeshifter?
Funny thing one of my self imposed rules is to not use the same series more than one. So another book featuring shapeshifters well other than in the two series above that I already mentioned I only have one more. Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer after New moon the second book where we see the introduction of werewolves.
6. Do you have a book signed by the author?
No, I do not. I might start looking for signed editions sometime soon.
7. Do you have a book with a mostly red cover?
Yes, I do. I want to take this opportunity to show off one of my favorite classics.
Set in the years after the French Revolution, Les Misérables is certainly French history recounted through the personal stories of its main characters: Jean Valjean, Fantine, Cosette, Javert, and others. And the novel offers philosophical insight on the good deeds that can happen even amidst ignorance and poverty.

8. Do you have a book between 287 – 306 pages?
Very specific page number again, let me spend a few minutes walking all over opening books until I find one. I am not sure anymore if there should be a timed challenge but we are not going to take time into consideration. I am taking a lot longer than I expected. This proved to be more difficult than I imagined. But I did find one Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat a fantasy story of two realms in a long war. The crown ´prince in one of them is betrayed and sent as a slave to the crown prince of the enemy. He must find a way to escape without revealing who he really is to his enemies.
9. Do you have a book with a main character who wears glasses?
Interestingly there aren't that many at least not that I own. I can't come up with an example other than Harry Potter. Let's take a look around. Not really I don't have another one where the main character wears glasses.
10. Do you have a book with a title that has the same number of letters as your first name?
So a book with a 5 letter title can't be too hard, right? (to be clear that was sarcasm).
The winner is Shift by Hugh Howey. In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platform that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, the CBS network re-aired a program about the effects of propranolol on sufferers of extreme trauma. A simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity’s broad history, mankind had discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall. And the ability to forget it ever happened.
This has a very intriguing premise, I just don't know why I haven't picked it up yet. If anyone has read it please share your thoughts with me.
11. Do you have a book with cybercrime/technology as a plot point?
As part of cybercrime, it's doubtful but I do have the Illuminae Files series. The main point in this series is Artificial intelligence, surveillance, and space travel.
A colony living in an asteroid is attacked and the survivors must escape from the ship who is chasing them to kill them.
12. Do you have book written in another language or translated to English?
I have several mangas that are originally in Japanese. The one I am currently reading is Inuyasha by Rumiko Takahashi, this tells the story of a young girl who is transported to the Feudal era where she must face demon and spirits. She is determined to face them and protect humans in that era.
13. Do you have a book written by an Asian author?
Another book by a Japanese author I have s Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. This is the story of a group of high schoolers who get dropped on an island, the game is to kill each other and there will be only one survivor.
14. Do you have a book with a moon on the cover?
The books feature some relation to the night be it stars or nighttime vibe I get from them. This tells the story of a witch who dislikes her culture and magic. She unknowingly makes a discovery that could threaten the balance between supernatural creatures. Matthew a very stoic vampire unites forces with her and protects her.
15. Do you have an illustrated children’s book?
I have a few of Roald Dahl's book, that is a bit of a stretch but I'll count it. Matilda was the first book by him I acquired and I love it. It tells the story of a little bright girl who loves to read. She is lovely and when she starts school she discovers new friends and an ability she had dormant.
16. Do you have a collection of fairy tales or myths?
Yes, I do. The classic fairytale book collection the brother Grimm's fairytale collection.
17. Do you have a sci-fi/fantasy with an alliance between races?
I have a book featuring a war between races and a few team-up against all odds and have amazing adventures. It's the classic story. Of course, I am talking about Saga.
18. Do you have a book with a narrow front cover? (paperback with a front cover that is slightly trimmed shorter/narrower than the rest of the book)
The book I have is the memoir book by Anna Kendrick. I liked it, I recommend it to people who like her or her movies. She's funny and witty.
I am not sure why this design came to be. I mean what is the purpose of the narrow front page?
19. Do you have a book that includes the first chapter of the sequel?
This is a very common thing in series, or is it? Not sure. But the first example that came to mind was the diviners by Libba Bray a book set in the 1920s where people with special abilities are dealing with a supernatural killer and other mystic issues.
20. Do you have a book with a broken spine?
Yes, I do, a few let's try to find one I have not mentioned before. The stand by Stephen King. A patient escapes from a biological testing facility, unknowingly carrying a deadly weapon: a mutated strain of super-flu that will wipe out 99 percent of the world's population within a few weeks. Those who remain are scared, bewildered, and in need of a leader. Two emerge--Mother Abagail, the benevolent 108-year-old woman who urges them to build a peaceful community in Boulder, Colorado; and Randall Flagg, the nefarious "Dark Man," who delights in chaos and violence. As the dark man and the peaceful woman gather power, the survivors will have to choose between them--and ultimately decide the fate of all humanity.
Wow, this took me longer than I expected. But this was the other book tag challenge if anyone out there wishes to consider yourself tagged by me.
See you until the next time, stay safe!
