 Volumes 15 and 16

Book description: In a world where 80% of the population has abilities crime relate to the use of quirks or special abilities rose. In response being a hero became a very lucrative and appealing career. We follow a group of first years of Yuei, the most prestigious hero school in Japan as they start their training and the first steps to becoming the best heroes out there. 

Thoughts:

Deku and his classmates have been granted their provisional licenses. They can now operate as heroes. Finally they will go out there and make a difference by helping people out using their abilities. Everyone needs to find an agency that accepts them, to work with them, and provide the guidance they need. 

Deku meets Sir, the old partner of All might. Their meeting is not as positive as he would have hoped. Sir is set against Deku as he did not agree to let him be All might's successor. Sir has an agency and they are working in a very specific project trying to nail down an old Yakuza group who are dealing with the worst possible drug in the market. 

Sir is trying to guide his two apprentices, in being careful thorough investigator before barging into an unknown situation. 

We follow a few other secondary characters, the three great ones from the Yuei high school. You are shown a bit of their life and fears. A lot of time dedicated to seeing their backstories and the insecurities they have. But more importantly how they are learning to accept themselves and not hate their lack of confidence or look down at their own abilities or achievements. 

We follow mainly Deku but a few others make an appearance. 

Sir makes a breakthrough in their investigation and they decide to attack the location of their enemies. Sir requests the help of several agencies and the police force to gather enough manpower to find the Yakuza and take their main weapon away. They discover the existence of Eri, a little girl. Her abilities are not well known but from her body, a drug is produced. It could mean the end of society as it has been known so they will try their hardest to retrieve her. 

As usual, even the best plans have flaws. The Yakuza are not as surprised as they had hoped and epic battles take place. Both volumes were very easy to get through especially because of the fights and the high stakes of capturing the villains and rescuing Eri. The fight is still on. The Yakuza have very loyal members and they are fighting with all they got in order to defend their leader. And big reveal, the league of villains is working alongside the Yakuza. They have a few of their members helping them defend their safe house. 

At the end of volume 16, the fight is still ongoing and it is not clear yet who is going to win. Also, Deku is not exactly in the top shape as he discovered the reason Sir and All might parted ways. Sir has the ability to foresee, he sees the future. His ability has a limited capacity but All might's death was already foretold. All might is to die in one or two years tops. Deku is not willing to let that happen and makes very interesting promises. Very illogical and understandable at the same time.

I am enjoying where the story is going. Can't wait to dive back in.
