Points to consider:

  1. Characters: 5.5
    1. The stories are short and the development of the characters is very little. The characters are kind of bland and don't make you care too much for them, it seems that they are there simply to make the story move along.
    2. It is the old style of people simply being used as names and voice to get the story moving. But due to the shortness of each story, I guess that's to be expected.
  2. Plot: 5.0
    1. The stories are fast paced and not all that scary at all. They are written in the old style of "scary" stories featuring suspense and ghost as the main scary point.
    2. There are no twists or anything, you can guess what's going to happen as you move along very easily. It is still entertaining and its an awesome option if you have a very frightful heart. You can definitely read it without fear of losing sleep over it.
    3. It's like hearing stories around a campfire, straightforward and short enough to get through in a little bit.
  3. Logic: 7.5
    1. The people in the stories take very few decisions, it's mainly recollection of stories and things that happen. It doesn't see illogical, but some of the reactions are not as quiet you expect. BEcause even when someone is telling about something that happened in the past that should really be at least unsettling well the characters do not seem to be affected at all.
    2. The characters lack a bit of proper reaction I guess, but it could simply be a small detail that was overlooked but I mean the story was written so long ago. For the time period this was awesome I assume.
  4. Writing style: 7.0
    1. Again this is not something I feel comfortable rating it. As with every classic, it feels a bit not as interesting unless the genre is one of your favorites and scary ghost stories are not really my thing.
    2. The writing is straightforward and simple to get through but not too eye-catching.
  5. Intrigue: 4.0
    1. The old style does not make it as interesting as I expected it. It definitely feels a bit dull to read at first, you just have to get used to it.
  6. Intent: 5.0
    1. It definitely is not scary, but it is a good read if you simply have no idea if your heart is up for scary, this is an awesome baby step toward it.
  7. Enjoyment: 5.0
    1. Not my favorite, but I still need to read more, you get used to the style and you get to enjoy it more.

Total Score: 39.0
Average: 5.71
