Mid Year Book Freak Out Book Tag
I am not sure who is the creator of this sorry about that.
So moving on, there are several prompts so I will try to leave only a single answer for each one.
1. Best book you've read so far this year?
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
This was totally a booktube recommendation, initially it took me a while to get into but then I was super invested and in the end, I loved it!
2. Best sequel you've read so far?
Based on the enjoyment I would say The Blinding knife and the broken eye by Brent Weeks, a slow-paced story but you really get to care about the characters that get to know them even if the plot is slow moving it continues to be interesting.
3. New release you haven't read yet?
This one is easy I haven't read any jajajaja so I have a big list to pick from.
Top ones: The burning white by Brent Weeks. I started to read this series because of recommendation by several booktubers but overall it was a nice story, the characters just get you so invested and you need to know what happens to them! Really enjoyed it more than what I first expected.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
Call down the hawk, by Maggie Stiefvater.
Ronan was my favorite character and can't wait to see what life choices he has made! What does a dreamer choose as a life path.
5. Biggest disappointment.
The Siren, Kiera Cass. I really liked the idea, the back story of the origin of the sirens, the idea of the fated soulmate is something I love and yet I felt this was so not my cup of tea. The main character whose name I kind of forgot was very annoying to me, which took a lot of the enjoyment out of the experience.
6.Biggest Surprise.
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen when I picked it up due to Lala's video her video of her childhood favorites. It seemed interesting but I did not expect it to be so moving. It was more enjoyable than I first expected.
7. Favorite new author (new to you also counts).
So new to me Brandon Sanderson, I really am late on getting to this author but I loved his writing style so much. Those kinds of situations where you surprise yourself that it took so long to get through the first dive into a prolific author.
8. New fictional crush.
Surprising I had issues coming up with an answer. Usually I find several people/ love interest to fangirl about.... This year has it rough. So I will pick Lou Carmondy who is a very underrated husband. He seems like a very sweet person from the little time he is given in NOS4A2 by Joe Hill.
9. Newest favorite character.
Locke Lamora, is one of the most interesting people I have found so far!! Loved it! But because we already used that book lets pick someone else. But oh well I have such difficult time picking new people, I still super love Percy Jackson, Gabin from the black prism, Adam from The raven boys....
10. Book that made you cry/sad
Night by Elie Wiesel this is a book about the recollection of a boy's experience during WWII. I can't believe how touching this can be! A must read really.
11. Book that made you happy.
Taking a look back there were very fluffy light books this year so far. But from the ones I have I will pick the manga I have been reading so lately I picked Ranme 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi, it a hilarious over the top story! Just enjoy your time reading their adventures... The big fights I am not interested but totally insta-love jajaja
12. Favorite book to movie adaptation. Well, I haven't seen any adaptations, except well I saw Shadowunter series, does that count? I really liked the series.
14. Most beautiful book you've bought so far.
15. What book do you need to read by the end of the year?
Warbreaker, Brandon Sanderson I have to finish that book! I have been putting it off for months!!
