Thoughts:
Characters: 9.5
Most characters are very captivating, initially, you are following several of them, Vivena, Siri, the mercenaries, Vahr, some of the priests.... Hard to keep track of all of them but as soon as you spend more time with them you start to care deeply about them.
The unlikely love story taking place is also very interesting, it is mainly sweet (the main couple) yet the romance is not heavy, but it does have a purpose in the overall plot.
Plot: 10.0
It does take a while to get into it, the introduction of the characters, the world, the politics, it does take a while for everything to start making sense and seeing the relevance of what's going on.
The twists and surprises, you have secret plots, betrayals, oh it has all the good points of a nice fantasy.
The magic system is complex and interesting, it is explained in a way that seems very natural throughout the story. Initially, you do not get a bomb of information about it, it is very well interwoven in the narrative.
Logic: 9.5
The way people are described their struggles, make them seem so real. The princess is not perfect, she realizes she is not prepared at all to deal with politics or warfare, the God King, the villains, the priests, the Returned, no one is perfect.
Writing Style: 10.0
The way it is written is surprising, the characters engage you, even if the politics and story do take a bit to get truly engaging it is worth it.
Intrigue: 8.5
There are several plots going on at the same time.
Enjoyment: 10.0
Intention: 10.0
Total Score: 67.5
Average: 9.6
Star rating: 5.0

This is a new favorite.
I really don't know why it took me this long to finish it I started to read it Monday and yet I did not get through to the 40% mark until Friday and as soon as I picked it up that day I did not put it down until I was finished!
This was finally finished during my own 24-hour readathon. This was the first book I decided to pick up on my very own readathon, this ran from 6:00pm Friday to 6:00 pm Saturday.
