The Haloween Tree
Author: Ray Bradbury
Pages: 145
Genre: Fantasy Children
First Published: January 1972
Book Description (from Good Reads): A fast-moving, eerie...tale set on Halloween night. Eight costumed boys running to meet their friend Pipkin at the haunted house outside town encounter instead the huge and cadaverous Mr. Moundshroud. As Pipkin scrambles to join them, he is swept away by a dark Something, and Moundshroud leads the boys on the tail of a kite through time and space to search the past for their friend and the meaning of Halloween.
This is a very short book that you can finish in a single day. I choose the audiobook because since I started using Scribd I want to get the most out of my subscription. XD
It was narrated so well that even if the story is so simple giving us only the reason behind Halloween festivities and the reason why children have the costumes of witches, mummies, ghosts, etc. It is so capturing.
A read that I thought more appropriate for children than adults but still it is very interesting. And it would have been a better idea to read in October but still, I enjoyed myself quite a bit.
Gave it 3.5 stars.
It is very interesting even if there really is nothing of Horror on it. It's more like an adventure night for this kids.
