Blue Lily Lily Blue

Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Series: The Raven Cycle #3
Genre: Magical Realism
Original publication date: October 2014
Book Description: There is danger in dreaming. But there is even more danger in waking up. Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The raven boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.
The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost. Friends can betray. Mothers can disappear. Visions can mislead. Certainties can unravel.

Thoughts:
This is a reread of the book. I had forgotten which parts happen in this one and what happens in the next one. But still liked it a lot.
The family issues with Adam is managed very well. Not everything is always handled the best but that does not mean a defeat for the sufferer and it has to be done, winning or achieving a conviction is not the main intent.
The friendship is still very present and it has the beginnings of the romances. That aspect I liked really. You see the group of friendship is still strong yet there are motions of couples forming among the teenagers yet it does not take over the story as a whole, they still have their adventures of searching for the king (not the main aspect explored), understanding the magic they uncovered, getting new enemies and trying to figure out how to slip from the bad guy's grasp.
The magic becomes ore palpable but again there is very little plot progression. The overall storyline has moved very little, the mystery is still present like it was in book one, but the strong point here is the characters and the relationships between them, this time I simply enjoyed it!
The first time I read it I loved the story but in the end, I was a bit annoyed to still have the big mystery present, we don't know if they will find their king, or what state they will find him and more bad guys getting uncovered, the promise of something bad coming... It leaves you with big expectations.

Gave this 4.5 stars

This story was meant to be used for a challenge with LGBT+ representation in Supernatural a thon and it does contain it but very light touches.
