Mid Year Goal check in

I don't really remember how many times I have changed my reading goals for this year. There were several goals I completely gave up on, some were added, oh well let's begin.

My overall goals can be found here https://readaholic-anonymous.blogspot.com/2020/01/2020-reading-goals.html

Change of plans:
-The TBR game to pick my reads was a total failure, I can't really do it as I usually have too many other plans going on and then if I can't fit into the prompts then it simply does not work as a doable TBR. So I decided to stop using it and just pick books based on what I want to get done.
-I had to finish a few books of short story collections those were Brother's Grim complete fairytales, Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft stories. I have not even attempted to do that, not sure if I will really try it now. I have yet to even start and already 6 months have gone by so I am probably not going to stick to this goal.

Specific Goals

Series
The series to get to 2020, you can find the original post here https://readaholic-anonymous.blogspot.com/2020/01/series-to-get-to-2020.html
I planned to read several series or at least get a start in, overall I have 32% Progress, that's actually pretty low. I had not realized how bad I was doing in this particular challenge.
Those were:
*A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin- I always call it the wrong name, the actual series name is "A song of ice and fire" but I am sure most people understand even when I call it the wrong name.
I have made no progress at all, still need to move on to the second book. 0% progress

*Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan- The goal was to read the first 3 this year.
I have yet to start the eye of the world (the first one) 0% progress

*Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
The first one is in my July TBR, so hopefully, I will read it in the next few days. 0% progress.
The others I have not even started yet are:
*The stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

*His dark materials by Phillip Pullman

*Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien

*Jurassic Park duology by Michael Crichton 100% completed.

*Dorothy must die series by Danielle Paige the series was started and officially DNFed. 75% progress was made though, so I can say I gave it a pretty good chance before calling it quits.

*Oz the complete collection by L Frank Baum.

I have read 2 books so far, the third is in July's TBR so hopefully, I will catch up and read it. 40% progress.

*Mary Poppins by PL Travers 66% progress, only one book left to get to.

*The ones I have fully completed are:

The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie

Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

Rereads
The goal was to reread 24 books, 3 more were added a bit later on to that the original list can be found here: https://readaholic-anonymous.blogspot.com/2020/01/books-to-reread.html
I have read 9 books so that means 33% progress based on the books from that list. I did read 2 more but those were not among the ones I had initially planned to reread. I am also behind in this goal.

This is very depressing I have not been keeping up with the goals this year, that is not what I expected to find.

Authors to read more of

Agatha Christie and Stephen King I am supposed to read a book from each month. 100% accomplished at least a book and in some months 2 or 3 from each author was read, so in that one at least I am ok.

Good Reads Choice Awards 2019 I had to read 37 books and so far I have made 50% progress, I am more ahead than I expected but this challenge is on I believe I will not continue.

Other
I am failing miserably in the aspects of
*Reading from Kindle I made maybe 10% progress
*Reading Spanish, Mexican or Latin authors I have maybe 2 or 3 months actually done thin
*Reading poetry I have read maybe 2 poetry books this whole year so I am 4 behind

Conclusion I am well behind my goals but we still have a few months, I can still catch up :)
