Books to reread

So as of last year I decided that I will have a list of books/series to reread and see if that helps me take off the indecision of picking what to reread.

I want to make a priority of rereading for a very simple reason: Stubbornness. I have moved a few times the last few years and each time I get a lot of complaints from my sister and family about the number of books I have as it is a pain to pack, unpack and worse off, carry boxes, cherry on top summer 2019 our new apartment is in the second floor with a very small stairway and we had to carry tons of boxes very heavy ones and the one bookshelf I have, it was amazing that it managed to be carried up, no for the weight but due to the stairs, they are definitely not very well planned.

So as proof that I do need to keep my books I need to continue to reread them.

This year the plan is to reread 24 books.

Series:

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan.
This follows Magnus, an orphan teen living in the streets when he dies saving another person in danger discovers secrets of his ancestry he did not expect. He is a demigod, son of a God and due to his bravery, he gets to go to Vallaha and train to become warriors.
I have read this series only once so I think its a great opportunity to get back into this world and get to see the characters here, I do remember I liked them a lot. It is a great thing that I usually like my series even more on the rereads.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
This is a fantasy, it follows Kaoru, a girl go is in between on the normal human world and a world of chimeras and angels, a war she had no idea was going on and secrets she could have not imagined.

The Shadow and bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.
This was a bit annoying to read as Alina was not my favorite character, so it will be interesting to see what my opinion is now.

The Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo

So this is the second series in the world, and I enjoyed it more mainly due to the heist aspects of the story. We follow different set of characters as they have to accomplish an impossible prison break. I loved it!
We'll see what the reread reveals.

Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children by Ranson Riggs

So this is a YA fantastical story about a boy who discovers children who have abilities, a home where they all live, his life gets a lot more exciting than what he expected.
I love this books, and the pictures included give it a very nice feel to it as you go reading.

Letters to the lost duology by Bridgid Keremmer.
This is a contemporary story, this are companion novels. The first one starts with a girl whose mother died. Julie, writes letters to her and places them on her mother grave, she uses this as a coping mechanism or to feel close to her, but then she starts to get replies to her private letters.

Captive Prince trilogy by CS Pascal

I think I might have issues to get through it due to the abuses of mentioned here, but we'll see how I feel about it this time.
A prince is sold as a slave to enemies and he faces a weird society wit a weird sense of moral and very different habits. That sounds very bad. But I am very bad at describing, oh well.

The very first time I read something if there is a lot of angst or drama I always try to get through it pretty fast because I need to know what the resolution is like. And I remember being very anxious while I read this, so I will take my time a bit more this time and enjoy the read and maybe catch details I might have missed the first time around.

Standalones:

Under the red tainted skies by Louise Gornall

This is about Nora, she can't step outside of her house, everything out there is dangerous and she can't help it. But then new neighbors move in and she meets Luke and she really wants to get to know him. We follow her as she struggles with her fears, with the wish to get to know the boy she starts to have feelings for. I really liked it the first time I read it so I should enjoy this read as well.

Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson.

This story is great, slow to start in my opinion. A king must marry his daughter to the Gd king of their enemies who they hate. He decides to take a loophole and send his youngest daughter instead of the oldest daughter who has been trained all her life for this task. That is the start of a whole lot of situations for both of the princesses.

Series of books in which I have not read all of the published works.

Wool by Hugh Howey.
I have only read the first book and I want to reread it to maybe get to the next ones.
This is the story of mankind clawing for survival, of mankind on the edge. The world outside has grown unkind, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they profess to want: They are allowed outside.

The Checquy Files by Daniel O'Malley.

I have only read the first book of this series

The first few pages completely capture my attention:
"The body you are wearing used to be mine." So begins the letter Myfanwy Thomas is holding when she awakes in a London park surrounded by bodies all wearing latex gloves. With no recollection of who she is, Myfanwy must follow the instructions her former self left behind to discover her identity and track down the agents who want to destroy her.
I really want to reread this one and then move on to the second part of it.
Carry on by Rainbow Rowell.
This is a fantasy story about a chosen one in a magical school, his enemy and their relationship. I just love the nice fluffy story this presents. And like the books mentioned previously, there is a second part that has been published so I want to reread this one and maybe get to the next one.

The main intent of this post is to make myself accountable and actually try to get to the rereads. Last year I did reread but not most of the books I had set as part of my reread list.
We will see how I do by the end of 2020.
