Tome Topple Readathon Round 7


Another Readathon I just found we want to participate but I cannot add any more books to this month's TBR so I will take some of the ones I have already added here:

 Duration: November 16-29
Rules: Read books over 500 pages
Exceptions: Short story collection books do not count.

 So for this, I have planned to read:
The Illuminae Series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

2021 Reading Statistics

  Let's take a look into 2021 in lovely statistics. It might be a boring subject. This in no way is meant to make others feel pressured or compare themselves. Numbers are not the most important thing. Reading happens to be my escape from the real world and due to the current times and my lack of options for the first half of the year that I was not leaving my house at all, well that provided a lot of time I was able to spend reading.  This year was filled with changes and scary situations that had me up and down emotionally. But we can look back in my reading journey and count it as a success.  From these numbers, this represents my goal to have been accomplished in 156%.  From them, 7% were rereads- 23 books. That is a bit below, my goal was 10% but I was very close. 5 star prediction

So I am taking a look in the books I have in my owned TBR and do a prediction on those I will love. The fantasy I have a lot of faith in The way of kings by Brandon Sanderson. An epic fantasy story people have been hyping it so much that I have big expectations. From the book description, I get nothing other than it is full of magical fights. Children of time by Adrian Tchaikovsky a sci-fi. The last remnants of the human race left a dying Earth, desperate to find a new home among the stars. Draw TBR January 2020

So let's begin once more by taking a look at how we did last month. We had 7 draws and yet I only completed 5. I did not complete The Hobbit nor the Angel's game So once more I did not manage to do it. I need to work on this so much more!! Let's roll now. How many draws for this month: 5 1. 5 Star prediction The island (La isla), Asa Avdic. This is a mystery/thriller. A group of 7 goes to an island to compete for a job position, something happens and they are trapped, we do get in the book description that there will be a live assassination.  Too vague but that's the best for mysteries. 2. Retelling Pride and prejudice and mistletoe, Melissa de la Cruz This is a gender-swapping Pride and prejudice retelling, that sounds amazing and fun. 3. Adult fantasy The blade itself, Joe Abercrombie. Once more I will attempt to read it this month, I better do it this time. 4. 2020 Reading statistics

  The end of the year is my favorite time for several reasons: I overview and check the goals and set new ones.   I surpassed my reading challenge for 2020 (Goal 225). Out of the total books read, 25 were reread that makes it 9%. My goal was 10% in the year so I'm going to round up and give that goal also a check of completed.  My favorite graph to see is the one describing the number of books read per month. The month I read the least was December as I had predicted. This was mostly because I am usually busy with other plans and because by the time December rolled around I was a bit burned out. The last few weeks I had a bit of a struggle to get into a series and instead of DNFing it and picking something up I tried to push through. This was a mistake. In the end, the only thing I accomplished was to get into a reading slump and I read almost nothing afterward.  The month I read the most was August, I am not even sure why. I have almost no record of those books...
