NOS4A2
Author: Joe Hill
692 Pages
Genre: Paranormal, Thriller, Magical Realism
Book Description (from Good Reads): Victoria McQueen has a secret gift for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. On her Raleigh Tuff Burner bike, she makes her way to a rickety covered bridge that, within moments, takes her wherever she needs to go, whether it’s across Massachusetts or across the country.
Charles Talent Manx has a way with children. He likes to take them for rides in his 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the NOS4A2 vanity plate. With his old car, he can slip right out of the everyday world, and onto the hidden roads that transport them to an astonishing – and terrifying – playground of amusements he calls “Christmasland.”
Then, one day, Vic goes looking for trouble—and finds Manx. That was a lifetime ago. Now Vic, the only kid to ever escape Manx’s unmitigated evil, is all grown up and desperate to forget. But Charlie Manx never stopped thinking about Victoria McQueen. He’s on the road again and he’s picked up a new passenger: Vic’s own son.
Thoughts:
Initially, I was a bit confused about what was happening because it kept changing from the perspective of one character to another with nothing to do with each other, but it was the beginning of the whole thing. It was hard to understand if they had powers, f there was a paranormal event demon ghost type of thing or what.

But soon the story picked up and it was an uphill ride. There is a lot of anticipation of what is going to happen and how it would all end.
As soon as you start to get the hang of it and see that it all is going to connect, it simply becomes interesting and you are expecting the big fight between Vicky and Charles Manx.
I do not enjoy the ending as much but it does make sense the way it had to end, Vicky fighting Charles, the way people (Charlie) mainly is affected you can't go through all that and not be affected really.

But my huge disappointment was the romance that definitely felt too forced right there in the ending. Or more like unnecessary really Overall I really enjoyed the story as a whole.
Sidenote; the way children changed once they were taken by the Wraith .... they were creepy, those teeth and evilness, that was scary.
