In the tall grass
Author: Stephen King and Joe Hill
Genre: Short stories, Horror (More like suspense)
Original publication date: August 2012
Book description: In the Tall Grass begins with a sister and brother who pull off to the side of the road after hearing a young boy crying for help from beyond the tall grass. Within minutes they are disoriented, in deeper than seems possible, and they’ve lost one another. The boy’s cries are more and more desperate. What follows is a terrifying, entertaining, and masterfully told tale, as only Stephen King and Joe Hill can deliver.
Thoughts:
This is a shorter story than I thought.
It is more like a mystery and a bit of sci-fi maybe. There is, as usual, something in the background that is not understandable but it's not magic or is it?
You spend a lot of the time with the main characters not understanding what's going on and lost in a maze of grass.
There is a bit of gore and very disturbing things happening, especially violence against women, cannibalism, those mainly what continues to swirl on my mind and something specific linking those two, but can't be mentioned without spoiling so just keep in mind while diving into it.
So if you have issues with people eating people, then do not read this story, it is mentioned a few times, maybe only twice but is it very disturbing.
This is a short story, very promising, I want to try to read more short stories collections by them.
