Thoughts:

It was a very surprising experience. Why? The first book was a bit of disappointment, the reviews I have seen mostly were positive, people love the characters and feel for them. I am mostly a character-driven person myself, the plot is important but if its character-based that is wonderful for me. So when the first volume, chapters 1 to 6 did not really make me feel connected to them, well that sent a little warning flag for me, what if I don't really get on board with them? There is not much plot so far so if the characters are not pulling you in, then this story is a disappointment. That was a very sad thought, I bout the 54 chapters in one go, I spent a lot of money on it and I did try to talk myself out of it, for the very reason: If I do not like it, I would have wasted a lot of my money on it and might not even finish it! I said it's too risky and then I just went ahead and did it anyway.

In this one we get more details about how our protagonists met and how they got together, it is mostly passed over as it happened a while back and it's not really relevant to the story, but still, we get a few bits. I do not see it as realistic but we get so little details on it that it might have been slow at a time and not a fast 180° turn from I hate you and your kind to let's hang out and speak in a friendly manner. (If it happened in a single meeting, oh that is so unrealistic, but oh well that part of the story was not explained.)
There are a few details of the universe or worlds here, the plot is nonexistent, there are no real advancements, we do not see the political side of things. The only thing happening is different groups of people chasing the couple and their daughter having different kinds of success rates.

The freelancer was not showing much interest on the couple anymore while the Prince who is assigned the same task is each day more and more invested, he starts to be pressured to deliver results and if he has to pick between some random people and his family, well there is really no competition there on which one is the winner.

The Will is interesting, he seems to be getting his spot in my heart, and so is Izabel the babysitter. Why? Can't really give a concrete reason it just happened.

The crew is growing on both sides of the coin, The Will, the girl he rescued, an unlikely ally as well. On the other hand, the couple gets the inlaws and then a few more unexpected allies.

The family bonds described here are heartwarming, be it the family you are born into, willing to accept you, sacrifice and love each other even if that means trying to ignore their hate and revenge lust.

There is a kind of cliff hanger in this volume, as it contained from chapters 7 to 13 and I really think I'll start the next one next week instead of next month.
I wanted to take my time reading it as it is an ongoing series, once I catch up it's waiting for months for the next chapter but it might be a bit more difficult.
