Book description: A Kansas girl, Dorothy is trapped in a Tornado and it lands in a different country, Oz. She finds a few companions along the way who also need the Wizard's assistance.
Thoughts:
This is a reread, I am not sure when the first time I read it also this story is something you have seen in movies and referenced in plenty of places yet, there were still some details I had completely forgotten. In theory this year I created a list of books to reread and this one was not among them, odd I had forgotten I had read it before, but it's so long ago and can't remember details at all that is like the first time I absorb the book version- as this is a very well known story in any case even if you have not read the original story.
It is nonsensical, I was not expecting that. But it was not too much, or it clicked with me a bit better than normal, I generally hate nonsensical stories.
Dorothy and her friends are not very smart, the scarecrow, lion and the tinman all want something they clearly already posses, the only person who needs something is Dorothy. And they are the luckiest people. Everything gets solved around them.
I liked it ok, it is not an overly fast-paced, and there is very little plot, ts mostly based on the characters and how they interact and evolve in the journey.
Not much to add, the story has a very convenient ending for each one of the main characters and I would assume that it was a stand-alone and yet there are few more stories, so now I'm curious to know what's coming after.
This was used for the O.W.L.s History of Magic read a book featuring wizards and witches.
