The 50 bookish Questions
So I found this bookish tag and it seems interesting, I want to try it! So lets begin.
1. What was the last book you read? The last one I finished was Under Rose tainted skies by Louise Gornall
2. Was it a good one? Yes, it was good, not a new favorite but can't complain.
3. What made it good? It gives a very good rep of agoraphobia, a realistic reaction of people outside even of teenagers in love, it does not magically cure the one who suffers it simply due to love.
4. Would you recommend it to other people? Totally, I feel people need to read a bit more book that shows psychological disorders with a positive light instead of placing all the mental issues as the excuse for awful or the reason for the character to commit crimes.
5. How often do you read? Very often, 5 days a week. I do try to read every day. The weekend is the hardest days to read, but mainly it depends on the work schedule.
6. Do you like to read? I LOVE it!
7. What was the last bad book you read? Two come to mind but of them the one I liked the least was Salvation by Olivia Rae,
8. What made you dislike it? it was a short historical fiction full of troupes, a bad romance and with no real plot, just relationship-related drama, so as I disliked the romance on it, well I did not enjoy it.
9. Do you wish to be a writer? At times I want it, but I am happy trying to write fanfiction. Writing is a very difficult task, I do not have enough force of will or consistency to get through it.
10. Has any book ever influenced you greatly? Yes, usually good stories influence greatly, the greatness of the book is based on my personal enjoyment and the connection to characters.
11. Do you read fan fiction? I still read some, but for the last year or so, it has become rarer and rarer. I used to read fanfiction every day, even more often than actual books.
12. Do you write fan fiction? I have tried but I have not shared my work, but I did enjoy starting to write small stories mainly of Shadow Hunters.
13. What’s your favorite book? The Martian, Andy Weir
14. What’s your least favorite book? the book I have felt awful about so far was a Friedrich Nietzsche the anti-Christ. I consumed this one as an audiobook, so I did not rate it and told myself I should read it in physical format to see if I feel different about it, have not done it so far.
15. Do you prefer physical books or read on a device? I prefer usually physical reads. At the moment as I am in the middle of a reading slump, I found that audiobooks save the day! So Right now listening to audios are my favorite at the moment.
16. When did you learn to read? I learned at elementary school, I was about 6, I loved to have stories read to me when I was small.
17. What is your favorite book you had to read in school? There was a book about a WWII survivor that our English teacher had us read, it was Night by Eli Wiesel
18. What is your favorite book series? The raven cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
19. Who is your favorite author? For a long time, my favorite author was John Grishmane, I love his books, I fell in love with mystery legal thrillers thanks to him.
20. What is your favorite genre? Right now I love mainly Fantasy.
21. Who is your favorite character in a book series? I love Ronan Lynch from the raven boys.
22. Has a book ever transported you somewhere else? Yes, most of them regardless they are based on our own world or another one, I am swept along with the characters.
23. Which book do you wish had a sequel? The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I always wondered what happened to Wanda and Melanie later on, it seemed so interesting world.
24. Which book do you wish DIDN’T have a sequel? Not sure, I do not hate the books but the Shadow Hunters series, there are more and more coming out and some just feel totally unnecessary.
25. How long does it take you to read a book? It depends, normally in 2-3 days I finish 2 book as I always read two at a time, right now I am taking a week or week and a half to read a single or at most two books. Still not able to shake my slump.
26. Do you like when books become movies? Yes, I enjoy them both after getting a lot of disappointments I decided to read the books and watch the adaptations and enjoy them as separate things that way you don't get disappointed. Comparing them always ends up bad.
27. Which book was ruined by its movie adaptation? So far I have not seen such a bad adaptation to ruin a book for me.
28. Which movie has done a book justice? The Martian, I do love the movie and book greatly!
29. Do you read newspapers? No really
30. Do you read magazines? Not really
31. Do you prefer newspapers or magazines? I have not read any of them in years probably, but I guess I used to read more magazines than the newspaper.
32. Do you read while in bed? Yes, but I am not good at finding a comfortable spot, I'd rather be in a chair or sofa.
33. Do you read while on the toilet? Not really.
34. Do you read while in the car? I do, be it audios or read with my eyes in a cellphone or a nice comfortable paperback.
35. Do you read while in the bath? I only take showers and hearing the audios is difficult so I do not do it. I can try to get a shower speaker and maybe will do later.
36. Are you a fast reader? Not really
37. Are you a slow reader? No, More like a middle of the road reader.
38. Where is your favorite place to read? In my desk
39. Is it hard for you to concentrate when you read? Most of the time no, I can read almost anywhere, even while on the way to work and have no issues to get into the story while on the metro full of people and noise.
40. Do you need a room to be silent while you read? Not at all.
41. Who gave you your love for reading? Hard to tell, in my family no one reads. They respect my time but my parents and sisters have mostly always seen reading as a "waste" of time. But by now they just say nothing.
42. What book is next on your list to read? I am currently trying to get through The shining by Stephen King and Before they are Hanged by Joe Abercrombie
43. When did you start to read chapter books? I started to read for pleasure maybe when I was in 5 or 6th grade as it was the first time I had access to a school with a library. Before that only the stories that came in the school textbooks and a few books my grandmother had but they were rather old ad not that appealing.
44. Who is your favorite children’s book author? Louis Sachar, Holes was one of the first books I read as a kid and loved it throughout my life, I only reread it once but still holds a very special place in my heart.
45. Which author would you most want to interview? Honestly, my very anxious mind would not take well to trying to interview anyone!
46. Which author do you think you’d be friends with? No idea, I mostly follow the stories but don't look into the people behind the creation.
47. What book have you reread the most? Someone to watch over me by Judith McNaught and the partner by John Grishman I have reread them at least once a year since 2006 so yes definitely my most reread books ever!
48. Which books do you consider ‘classics’? Agatha Christie, Animal Farm, those types of books
49. Which books do you think should be taught in every school? Night by Elie Wiesel
50. Which books should be banned from all schools? I don't think books should be banned. Most of them can be used positively in a way, or the content is inappropriate it would be a good chance to point out that no one is perfect and some views are not supported by today's society.
