June Readathons TBR

The count of Monte Cristo was picked on a whim at the end of the last month but it is a chunky book and I did not finish it. I barely made a dent in it. So that is carried on for June.
This follows a young man who is thrown into prison all because of a plan made by a few men who envy him for different reasons. We see a good decent man become a completely different person as a result of years of imprisonment and resentment.

I did get this book a few months and have yet to pick it up. I just love the way it looks!

So as usual I wanted to have a small set TBR and that did not work!

Books as part of the readathons/Readathons.

#Cosmeralong in the Royalty book club-Announcement video here
-Hero of ages by Brandon Sanderson.
We follow Vin and Erland as they have escaped from the city and well ... that cliffhanger I don't think I will be able to discuss without spoiling the big reveal and the ending. But this is the last book in the trilogy and I have loved each book more as the trilogy progressed.
-The eleventh metal by Brandon Sanderson

#Elderlingalong with the Catch-up book club - Announcement video here.
-Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

In my case I have the Spanish version La busqueda del asesino translated by Manuel de los Reyes.
This is the last book of the Farseer trilogy, we are still seeing Traspie (Fitz) he is a young man and his life has not been simple at all and everything just keeps getting more and more complicated. I sincerely have n idea of where he is going now.
What does life have in store for him after his deception and the trashing of this reputation?

Literally dead book club
-The guest list by Lucy Foley

This is the typical who did it scenario, I really enjoy them. We have a wedding taking place in an island, a few guests and a murder takes place, so either there is someone with them killing people or one of them took a chance and killed someone. The description does not say who the victim is either. This surely will be interesting.

#AYearAThon This month it will take place from 8 to 14.
Theme: Buddy reads.
As part of several read-along of series and book clubs I have several to pick from so for this one lets pick one to double up:
Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

#MakeyouMythtaker
This is another month-long readathon taking place and I just want to participate. Announcement video here

So first of all you have to pick one of the characters and follow the path for it. It is not set in stone, you get granted a hop opportunity, the third prompt allows you to cross over to another character, color-coded so you know which characters can cross over.

The Myth takers:

So I will begin:
*Exciled
1. Disliked book.
Recursion by Blake Crouch. I have heard mixed feelings but several people hate harsh critiques as they say its the same formula as Dark matter and label it as predictable.
It is about a society that starts to get plagued by people waking up with fake memories of lives that never happened. A cop gets sucked into this mystery and he does not know exactly what's going on.

2. Outsource a book.
The murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. This is the #4 of the stories following the detective Hercule Poirot. Our hero encounters a suicide of a young woman followed by the murder of her fiance 24 hours later, what could really be happening?
This book I found in Scribd in audio format so, this prompt is accomplished as I do not own it.

So now I think we don't like the fate of an exiled, we've worked hard enough and proved ourselves. We're in the way to become Gladiator.

3. Read a book with a weapon in the cover
So to make matters simpler I will pick again Assassin's quest by Robin Hobb as in my version he has a Sword and in other, the cover has an ax so that counts.

4. Featuring training or fighting.
The last arguments of Kings by Joe Abercrombie. This is another third book in a trilogy I like the feel of ending series. This follows again Ninefingers, the great Magi, Glokta and the war against the northern kingdom. How can they defeat them?
I am excited to know how they can get out of the situation they are in.

If once the main four books are covered you are free to pick extra challenges to grant more abilities to your character, but for now, I'll leave it here, we'll see how we do throughout the month.
