GoodReads Choice Awards 2019 pt 1

So one of the challenges I made for myself was to read the selections for the Good Reads Choice Awards 2019. I divided them into 4 categories and made a goal to read each category was set up to read in 3 months. I liked this story I gave this 4.0 stars. I enjoyed it better than the first installment of the series, which I did not expect. I enjoy the struggle of the forced servitude women are forced to have and yet you get to see everything happening on the background of the society where not everyone really feels and believes what they hold as the pillar of the society.  This is amazing and I feel that it complements the handmaid's tale so we, that you just need to read them together to feel the full potential be reached.  I was surprised by how much ...

2021 Reading Statistics

  Let's take a look into 2021 in lovely statistics. It might be a boring subject. This in no way is meant to make others feel pressured or compare themselves. Numbers are not the most important thing. Reading happens to be my escape from the real world and due to the current times and my lack of options for the first half of the year that I was not leaving my house at all, well that provided a lot of time I was able to spend reading.  This year was filled with changes and scary situations that had me up and down emotionally. But we can look back in my reading journey and count it as a success.  From these numbers, this represents my goal to have been accomplished in 156%.  From them, 7% were rereads- 23 books. That is a bit below, my goal was 10% but I was very close. My next year's goal is set up differently I will use a number as the goal instead of a percent, I see it more achievable.  The formats are a bit more even, not bad really. As you can tell from the title this is a list of Stephen King works in publication order, as I will intend to read it in. I already started with the first one but still will continue to try to get to the rest. I will probably have to reread the few ones I have already read of his works. I have bought a very small amount of books. Here they are, again not really paying attention to publication edition or matching covers. Part of my personal challenges: Good Read choice Awards 2019 For this one I picked Exhalation by Ted Chiang a short story collection, it was one of the runners up for the Sci-Fi category. For the Agatha Christie challenge we have two books for this month: The man in the brown suit published in august 1924- a mystery story of a few deaths, a missing jewel, and the person who is trying to solve the mystery is Anne Beddingfeld.  The other one is the secret of chimneys published in June 1925- Anthony accepts a messenger job to deliver a manuscript to a publisher and he is mixed in something he was not prepared to dive into.
