2021 Reflections

  So we have seen the statistics for the reading. But I did have set goals at the start of 2021. Were they accomplished? To start off, the series to be completed this year are coming a bit later. So we will leave that off for now.  The Kindle book's goal was left very open and it's hard to account for it now. I did get through 23 books from Kindle, so I will give myself this one as a win. The balance of books was left almost as soon as I started. So let's do a quick one, the physical books are the only ones that will count, not digital (ebooks or Audiobooks).  Some are not going to be very doable, I moved to another country in August and brought zero physical books therefore some will stay unread for a while. So I have 12 books still unread from the ones bought in 2021.  For ebooks, I bought 156 and only read 23 so that means 85% of them are left unread. So that would have been a big fail. It is very refreshing and even if each story has a different style, they don't feel jarring. Also, it weaves in music some of the pieces are original work and you can find the lyrics and music score as well. Last book Haul 2020

  Again I am very surprised and yet not on how many books I have read but mostly how much I have spent on books this year alone. I have always tried to ignore my expenses in topics related to books. -I have tried to tell myself to stop buying so many books. -I have banned myself from buying physical books. - Set the rule only ebooks or audiobooks allowed. -Planned to only look for bargains online and get the 1 cent books in Kindle (Amazon) daily deals. -I have forbidden myself from buying online books (ebooks, audiobooks or physical books). -I have made it my monthly goal to only buy a certain amount of books (1 or 2) per month. Did I accomplish that? Not really.  I even went overboard this month. I bought a new bookshelf. Actually, I bought two. One was delivered and I just set it up (December 26) so it was my Christmas gift for myself in a way. The other one was because I had never come up with that before, I ordered a metallic shelf.
